癲癇發作時，可伴有植物神經癥狀，如面色蒼白或、惡心嘔吐、頭痛、腹痛、瞳孔擴大、心動過速、心悸、呼吸暫停等，但上述癥狀多為全身性或局部性發作的伴隨現象，極少有以植物神經癥狀為唯一表現的癲癇發作。臨床“頭痛性癲癇”、“腹痛性癲癇”診斷，應受到高度置疑。

有的患兒癲癇發作后來院就診，接診醫生馬上就予行腦電圖檢查，認為發作后時間越短做腦電圖檢查則陽性率越高。誠然，發作后盡快腦電圖檢查，發現問題的幾率是很高，但需注意，非癲癇性的抽搐發作后腦電圖也可以不正常，所以兒童癲癇發作后，短時間內的腦電圖檢查無助于癲癇的診斷，反而容易誘導誤診。

根據不同的發作形式選藥、癲癇的藥物治療原則包括單藥治療、長期治療、血藥濃度監測、藥物毒副作用監測等。開始抗癲癇治療時，藥物都要從一個相對較小的劑量用起，且抗癲癇藥物達到穩定血藥濃度需一定時間，如丙戊酸鈉、卡馬西平需5～7d，魯米那需3周。有的患兒治療2～3d不見效，就予更換藥物，勢必造成治療混亂，反而不利于病情控制。

　　患上癲癇病對于每個人來說都是一種打擊，不該發生的已經發生了，患者必須要敢于接受這個殘酷的現實，同時要想方設法找一家正規的醫院進行科學治療。治療癲癇病需要一個漫長的過程，而在這個過程中，只有明確病因才是治愈的前提條件。從大量的調查資料看出，以往大多數癲癇患者都是在沒有明確病因的情況下就盲目的采取藥物治療，這樣不但浪費金錢，而且也貽誤了病情，導致惡化加重。癲癇病會遺傳不會
