1、精神因素：喜能傷心、思能傷脾、怒無所泄可傷及肝腎，由于臟氣不平、機(jī)體氣機(jī)紊亂、郁而生痰、痰隨氣上，使清竅受阻導(dǎo)致癲癇發(fā)作。

2、跌仆產(chǎn)傷：由于突然的外傷或小兒出生時產(chǎn)傷形成瘀血，而心主神明、心主血脈，如有瘀血停滯，必然造成血脈流通不暢，使血滯心竅，神明無所主宰，故而在臨床上就會見到神志昏迷、語無論次等等。

3、先天因素：母親在懷孕期間受驚或調(diào)護(hù)失宜，導(dǎo)致小兒先天虧損、元氣不足、臟腹氣血不和，出生后患癲癇。故小兒癲癇特別多見。孕婦調(diào)養(yǎng)不當(dāng)、胎氣受損，當(dāng)胎在母腹中時，母親受驚嚇，驚則氣亂，胎氣亦隨之而逆亂，母體腎虧致小兒秉賦不足，而生后易患癇癥;或過分勞累體虛而致小兒秉賦不足。父母有病，影響胎兒，若父母患有病癥則因其臟氣不平，影響小兒先天秉賦而易患此病，或因父母素質(zhì)虛弱，或因父母久病失養(yǎng)致小兒精氣不足而出生后易患癇癥。

4、飲食因素：飲食不節(jié)制是癲癇發(fā)病原因之一，中醫(yī)認(rèn)為脾胃為人的后天之本，飲食五味經(jīng)過脾胃的消化運轉(zhuǎn)變成津液氣血而營養(yǎng)五臟六腑、四肢百骸，使人筋骨強(qiáng)壯、精神旺盛。相反，飲食失節(jié)、脾胃受損，使飲食水谷停滯，在胃腸造成中焦氣機(jī)阻塞，脾虛不能運化，水谷精微凝聚化為痰濁廢物，蒙蔽心竅，造成神昏仆地，癲癇發(fā)作。所以說飲食療法對于癲癇治療是有一定幫助的。
