2、癲癇大發作，約占癲癇發作的半數，大多數患者在1歲左右或者14-17歲之間。癲癇大發作是可以分為四個時期的，先兆期，強直期，陣攣期和恢復期。癲癇局限性發作又稱為單純性發作，表現為身體某一部分節律性抽動，持續數秒，意識清楚，如果是有癲癇放電擴展，可延至半身或全身。

3、癲癇小發作，癲癇小發作又稱為失神發作，意識障礙短暫而頻發為其特點，多數每次發作數秒鐘，但是不超過1分鐘，每日數次至數十次，突然發作，突然終止，表現為言語及活動突然中斷，兩眼凝視，偶爾上翻，有時面色蒼白，無先兆。手中持物落地。患者發作停止后，繼續原來的活動。

4、癲癇精神運動性發作，因為由顳葉病變引起的，又稱為顳葉癲癇，在意識障礙上，常常會出現錯覺，幻覺及自動癥等，發病年齡在各型癲癇中較晚，多在20歲左右首次發病，大約有少部分的癲癇患者發病時會出現先兆，患者常常會感覺胃部不適，幻味，幻聽，惡心，眩暈，恐懼等。
