癲癇即俗稱的“羊角風(fēng)”或“羊癲風(fēng)”，是大腦神經(jīng)元突發(fā)性異常放電，導(dǎo)致短暫的大腦功能障礙的一種慢性疾病，由于異常放電的起始部位和傳遞方式的不同，癲癇發(fā)作的臨床表現(xiàn)復(fù)雜多樣，可表現(xiàn)為發(fā)作性運(yùn)動、感覺、自主神經(jīng)、意識及精神障礙。

北京癲癇病醫(yī)院介紹說：通常，癲癇患者發(fā)作時(shí)會突然意識喪失，跌倒在地，全身肌肉發(fā)硬，頭向后仰，下肢伸直，上肢用力彎曲，呼吸肌強(qiáng)烈地收縮將肺內(nèi)空氣用力壓出，氣流通過喉頭，發(fā)出一聲尖銳的大叫，由于呼吸肌強(qiáng)直收縮，呼吸暫時(shí)停止，以致全身缺氧，表現(xiàn)面部、口唇青紫。癲癇有什么癥狀，這段時(shí)間稱為強(qiáng)直期，大約數(shù)秒到數(shù)十秒。隨之全身有節(jié)律地抽動，稱為陣攣期。面部及四肢有節(jié)律的抽動;有時(shí)可因咀嚼肌抽動而將嘴唇或舌咬破。腹肌和膀胱肌肉收縮可出現(xiàn)尿失禁。

晚發(fā)性癲癇在各個(gè)年齡段都有，在很多時(shí)候，患者需要積極的面對、治療。導(dǎo)致小兒出現(xiàn)晚發(fā)性外傷性癲癇的因素有外傷時(shí)有硬膜下血腫、顱腦血腫、顱骨凹陷性骨折、腦挫裂傷、腦水腫、顱內(nèi)感染或曾經(jīng)發(fā)生過早發(fā)性外傷性癲癇。

據(jù)癲癇專家介紹，外傷后有早發(fā)性癲癇者，其晚發(fā)癲癇的發(fā)生率為25%～30%，而外傷后沒有早發(fā)癲癇者，晚發(fā)癲癇的發(fā)生率則僅為3%。但也有人認(rèn)為，小兒的早發(fā)性與晚發(fā)性外傷性癲癇之間并無相關(guān)。腦損傷的部位是否體檢與晚發(fā)性外傷癲癇的發(fā)生有關(guān)尚未確定，但多數(shù)作者認(rèn)為，頂葉，顳葉前部和內(nèi)側(cè)面的外傷似易于發(fā)生晚發(fā)性外傷性癲癇。癲癇的臨床發(fā)作形式各例均不同，美白可能為全身性發(fā)作，局部性發(fā)作或局部性發(fā)作伴繼發(fā)性泛化，局部性發(fā)作美白可能有運(yùn)動呼吸性或感覺性先兆。外傷性癲癇一般不表現(xiàn)為失神發(fā)作。
