另外，在兒童癲癇病的治療上，應該把握以下幾個方面：選擇適宜的抗癲癇藥物治療，這是基本的原則。但是，兒童的治療需要特別關注幾個方面：對于某些具有良性預后的癲癇綜合征，如果發作稀少，例如每年的發作平均少于1次，則可以不服藥物，觀察隨診;由于兒童期處在學習知識的關鍵階段，選擇對于智能影響小或者沒有影響的藥物;對于難治性病例，需要非常謹慎的評價，才決定是否進行手術治療。
