繼發(fā)性癲癇發(fā)病原因，所謂繼發(fā)性癲癇又稱癥狀性或獲得性癲癇，在這一類癲癇中臨床發(fā)作只是腦部疾病的癥狀之一，是器質(zhì)性腦病的一種癥狀。例如胚胎時(shí)期胎兒腦受到外界不良因素的影響，造成畸形包括無腦回、巨腦回、神經(jīng)原異位癥、腦穿通畸形、巨腦癥等等。這些先天腦發(fā)育異常的孩子不但有癲癇的發(fā)作，而且多伴有精神發(fā)育的遲滯。小兒長大以后，顱腦外傷、感染、中毒、低血糖、低血鈣、腦腫瘤、腦血管疾病等等所造成的腦代謝異常都可成為癲癇的誘發(fā)因素。
