有些病人為什么總是控制不住呢?有些人怕抗癲癇物會把人麻醉過去或使人變傻，以至于不敢長期堅持服，總想尋靈丹妙，能一劑而愈。其實，這種想法不太現實，抗癲癇物雖有些副作用，但只要正確用，不會對身體產生太大影響。如不堅持吃，時間一久，就會有10%的病人智力減退。既然原發性癲癇病人在堅持服的條件下可以參加工作和學習，當然也應當享受美滿的婚姻生活。關鍵是在婚前，一定要坦率地向對方吐露真情，以取得對方的諒解和照料。
