首先要做好心理護理，幫助病人穩定情緒，免得病人惹事生非;其次可臨時加大原服抗癲癇藥的劑量，或在原服藥物的基礎上加用其它抗癲癇藥物，以預防發作。當發現大發作的癲癇早期癥狀時，采取任何措施預防發作已為時過晚，只有做好大發作的準備，癲癇婦女能否懷孕以保證病人發作時避免外傷的發生。

統癲癇發作先兆是指發作的最先感覺，它是發作最開始的部分，發作先兆發生于意識喪失之前，記憶仍完整的時候，此時從外表觀察不出任何異常情況，病人是清醒的，是有記憶力的，出現癲癇早期癥狀后，此時意識完全喪失，發作先兆主要是患者的感覺，年幼兒和智力低下者往往表達不出。
